To Ms. Chilli : The "O" stands for "OVER" as at the end of a radio transmission where the person transmitting ends his or her transmission with the statement OVER to let the person receiving know that his or her transmission has ended.

  1. THANK YOU! It was bugging the crap out of me.

Of course, now that you tell me, it makes perfect sense and I'm a little embarrassed that I couldn't figure it out myself....

  2. Hi, I'm a friend of your daughter's in blog life -- and we have actually met in real life!

I find it amusing that "snafu" lost its root meaning of the acronym S.ituation N.ormal A.ll F.***** U.p many years ago. I have heard it used by church-going folk who would not even let d*mn out of their mouths.

I also have in my possession an email from one such person describing a very messy situation as foobarred. The root spelling is fubar.
