WTFO is an acronym invented and used by the Navy. The acronym, when used, is usually in the form of a question (as in WTFO?). The acronym is used when things are not quite right or results of an action are not as expected. This blog Is my commentary and opinion on events of the day.

To Ms. Chilli : The "O" stands for "OVER" as at the end of a radio transmission where the person transmitting ends his or her transmission with the statement OVER to let the person receiving know that his or her transmission has ended.
Hi, I'm a friend of your daughter's in blog life -- and we have actually met in real life!
I find it amusing that "snafu" lost its root meaning of the acronym S.ituation N.ormal A.ll F.***** U.p many years ago. I have heard it used by church-going folk who would not even let d*mn out of their mouths.
I also have in my possession an email from one such person describing a very messy situation as foobarred. The root spelling is fubar.
47 year marriage, four children (one disabled), and seven grand children. Retired career navy mustang Lieutenant. Viet Nam Veteran. Manager in the ship repair and shipbuilding industry. Facility manager for the USDA and then retired. Home and family are my focus as is keeping up with what is happening in the world.
